The Sea Spirit's Den isn't a very significant location, too far from the war to be of much use to anyone. However, it has taken on a strong symbolic value in the hearts and minds of many civilians, who see it as a place to escape from the war and forget all their troubles. The cave seems oddly smooth and unnatural, leading some conspiracy theorists to believe it isn't a cave at all so much as a giant nest.
