A small, quaint town, the closest to the Tohjo Falls border between Kanto and Johto. However, its proximity to the League has made it a useful pair of ears for the Indigo Plateau. News from Kanto generally passes through New Bark before ever seeing the rest of Johto, making Boure's messages easy to stifle.

Ah, the smell of sea and flowers. Who needs to fight when among such beauty? But every rose has its thorns, and fair Cherrygrove is no exception. The many rocks separating it's beaches from the open ocean are being destroyed by a Zemina mining project, aiming to connect it to the rest of Johto's waters.

Violet City is the heart of Pokemon training in Johto, stressing coexistence, mutual respect, and the peaceful lifestyle of the sage. While disgruntled about the League's interference, they generally prefer a pacifistic outlook. Of course, this doesn't stop dissent from spreading through the training academies.

If Violet City is where trainers are made, Azalea Town is where they were born. The city is historic for its role in discovering the Pokeball, turning simple berries into world-change devices. However, the rise of corporations like Silph have left Azalea's secrets as quaint reminders of older days. While nominally neutral, whispers of opposition and strange graffiti are commonplace around Slowpoke Well.

While Johto is a rather quiet and isolated village, Goldenrod breaks the mold in many ways. It is a tourist hotspot, the largest shopping district in Johto, and home to a massive radio tower. Shipments from Kanto and rebels from Kanto come in equal numbers to this miniature metropolis. Rumor has it that at midnight abandoned radio wavelengths come back to life, spreading Boure's propaganda over once dead channels.

Ecruteak's central location and spiritual relevance have lead some to consider it the heart of Johto. The city is strongly traditionalist and has great respect for Zemina and the League, second only for the devotion they show to the Bell Tower and Burned Tower. It is a rather peaceful and artful town, but its citizens are always willing to take a stand and help fight for Zemina.

Olivine is Johto's primary trade hub, both with Kanto and the rest of the world. It is a major source of the spread of ideas, carrying new ways of thinking across the gentle breezes along with various shipments. Recently the ports once exclusive to trade and leisure have been share with various battleships: the occasional defacing of these ships shows what Olivine's populace thinks of the change.

The rough seas and vicious whirlpools of the Whirl Islands have left Cianwood almost completely isolated from much of Johto. A strong Boure sentiment has formed in the League's absence, only intensifying further as the war against Zemina rages on. On the rare occasions that Cianwood reaches out to the rest of the region, it often funnels rare Pokemon to rebels through its Safari Zone.

Once upon a time Team Rocket ran this town, making their resurgence in the Johto Region official. The high-tech HQ they set up has been seized by Blackthorn City, turning it into a Zemina base of operations. Displeasure is high in the town but crushed beneath Zemina's tightened security, forcing would-be rebels to meet in secret like the ninjas that the town was one famed for.

Blackthorn has been called the birthplace of champions, it's dragon-taming clan giving rise to strong trainers such as Lance and Claire. For this reason it is pro-Zemina to levels bordering fanaticism, and officials and citizens alike take a very active role in purging thoughts of rebellion from the region. The Dragon's Den and the Ice Path have been adapted into militaristic training posts, where trainers harden their hearts and bodies in extreme environments.
