For the sake of its civilians, Vanville Town has placed itself under lockdown. The small, peaceful town lives behind massive walls of concrete, desperately trying to block the war out of sight and out of mind. Thankfully, it's complete lack of strategic value has ensured Vanville Town's illusion has yet to be pierced by the reality of war. It serves as a base of operations, albeit a very minor one, for Kopec.

Aquacorde Town is much less populated than it used to be, as noncombatants and pacifists were all given a chance to move behind Vanville's great wall. Those that do remain are more mirage than man, using their home field advantage to attack any invading Zemina sympathizers from all angles. These guerilla warriors may be untrained, but they make up for it with a ferocious dedication to their homes.

Santalune City was once one of the most pleasant places in Kalos. Nowadays it is simply a place of healing, where those too bloodied to fight in Lumiose sit side-by-side with their former enemies. Some brief truces and even friendships have formed in the city's streets, but for the most part the town is irreconcilably divided into Zemina and Boure halves.

Lumiose City's northern boulevard is a deathtrap, primarily abandoned and wrapped in a constant state of urban warfare. Zemina surveillance cameras have stored two years' worth of footage of sympathizers and rebels brawling the streets, slowly reducing the land around them to cinders. Only active soldiers still live here, huddled in dilapidated buildings that once served as proud military bases.

Most of Lumiose's population has instead moved to the southern area, further crowding half of an already overcrowded city. The PR Video Studio now lives up to its name more than ever before, serving as the major battlefield of a propaganda war. Cafes are heavily faction-based, each choosing an allegiance and refusing to serve the unfaithful. Despite having little outright violence, one could argue the southern boulevard wages war just as ferociously as the northern one.

Camphrier Town is, without a doubt, the most boring place in Kalos. It joined Boure without much conflict or drama on either side. Occasional Zemina raids stampeding through the town have left many buildings in disarray, with periods of disturbing calm punctuating each raid. Of course, no amount of raids will find the sprawling server networks that power the Pokemon Storage System, self-sustaining and hidden from the prying eyes of both sides.

The roads where bikers once rode freely are now home to processions of Boure tanks. Cyllage's surrounding cliffs and coasts make for wonderful natural barriers, and its hardworking populace will stop at nothing to produce and fight for their home. A series of targeted dynamite sticks have caved in most of the nearby Connecting Cave: only a few select passages persist, kept under heavy guard to limit access.

Labs once set aside for the sake of science have now taken up the burdens of Boure. Fossil research has taken a backseat to heavy industry, as all sorts of weapons are made and shipped to nearby Cyllage. Of course, the death of tourism in Kalos has left the town increasingly strapped for cash. Rumor has it that some scientists, poor and increasingly desperate, have begun selling secrets to Zemina.

The massive crater just outside of Geosenge will forever be a grim reminder of what the Boure rebellion is fighting for. The town has become something of a pilgrimage site, with rebels from all over the six regions coming to pay their respects and remind themselves of their mission. The actual citizens of Geosenge aren't always happy about this, slightly resentful that other regions are championing their suffering without doing a damn thing to help.

If Cyllage City is the rebellion's shield, Shalour City is its sword. The Shalour army is trained to be as disciplined as the Tower of Mastery's monks and as deadly as a Mega Evolved Pokemon. They regularly boast that their entire army is equipped with the ability capable of this special evolution: while the rarity of the stones would suggest otherwise, nobody wants to risk calling their bluff.

Courmarine City is the furthest Zemina forces have managed to push west. The city's main strategic value is its port, one of the rare few known to exist in the mountainous region. Were they to lose Courmarine the Zemina would lose most contact with the outside world, and for this reason they have fortified and guarded it almost as heavily as the League building.

Laverre City is a town that just doesn't seem right. Time always seems to be moving a little too slowly, colors seem just slightly too vivid, the citizens' eyes are just a little too big for their heads, and even the most vicious Pokemon seem perfectly pacified. It seems almost natural that such a strange town would be strangely untouched by the war. The path of destruction stretching up from Route 14 just seems to stop the second it reaches Laverre's city limits.

Dendemille Town is the agricultural center of Kalos, its all-natural crops and wind power keeping both people and machinery well-fed for years. Of course, allying itself with Zemina has left it open to various salted earth strategies from resenting rebels. Times of plenty and times of famine alternate based not on weather patterns but on how burned each season's crops are.

Anistar City is a strange city, built on high bridges above the waters to try and mitigate the freezing cold of the surrounding routes. While famous for its beautiful sights and stargazing, ever since joining Zemina its priorities have involved less observatories and more factories. While not built with ports in mind, fear of losing Courmarine have inspired nonstop work on adding one to Anistar.

Couriway Town's rails have been mostly out of commission. They now only travel in two directions: coming into town with cargo, and going out of town with Zemina soldiers. The many waterfalls of the town still shine a bright, clear blue, even as the rest of their surroundings begin to dull and wither with pollution.

Snowbelle City has opened up a negotiation pact with Zemina. The League building will share its warmth and energy, and in return Snowbelle will be an ever-watchful sentry. As part of the terms of this deal, all aligned with Boure have been evicted from the city, forced to either pledge allegiance or find homes elsewhere. Rumor has it that the cold air is great for training, and move tutors in the city can unleash any Pokemon's fullest potential.

One would expect a city of the region's strongest trainers to wholeheartedly throw their support behind their Boure brethren. That's why the masses were shocked to hear recent news of Kiloude's alliance with Zemina. As a fresh, unharmed city home to an army strong enough to rival Shalour's, many wonder if this alliance is capable of shifting the balance of power that Zemina had slowly been losing.
