Nobody quite knows the deal with these caves, and only the bravest and brightest of the region particularly care to find out. Some say the caves are where Arceus spoke the world into existence, using the strange, glyph-like beings that later give rise to written word. The walls are littered with strange writing in familiar yet incomprehensible languages.

While many forests have been harvested by both sides for the war effort, Ilex has remained standing strong. Presumably this is out of respect, or possibly fear, for the nature guardian Celebi. A dedicated few can always be found paying tribute at the forest, but most prefer to hurry through its perpetual darkness and legion of Bug-types as quickly as they can.

The bread and circuses of Johto are on full display here. In an attempt to appease the training masses Zemina regularly offers Pokemon tournaments, catching contests, and sport-like spectacles. Is it a show of goodwill, or is it a distraction from past negligence? Some even suspect it houses a secret area where members of all ideologies can debate in private.

The Whirl Islands are rumored to be Lugia's new roost after the Burned Tower's destruction. The islands are barren and surrounded by deadly whirlpools, making them near-uninhabitable and often ignored. Only fervent believers and reckless explorers generally pay the islands much heed.

Mt. Mortar stands tall above the ungoverned wilderness, with too little strategic value for either side to care much for. It has become a roost for strong trainers on both sides, some putting their ideologies aside to train and others hatefully attacking one another. Just climbing the mountain is an unspoken agreement that you're looking for a fight.

Despite its name, the Lake of Rage is incredibly placid. It has become a relaxing spot for fishing, Pokemon catching, and Gyarados watching. Many come to this lake to try and forget about the realities of the war. The lake is nearly untouched by human development, although some swear they see cameras poking out of the trees.

If one doesn't mind braving a mess of Zubats and twisting passages, the Dark Cave provides an essential shortcut between Eastern and Central Johto. By day Blackthorn's armies march through the caverns to spread Zemina's will. By night Boure operatives lurk in its passages, plotting in the tunnel's deepest annals where they can't be detected. Will they ever end up meeting?

Tohjo Falls is the border between Kanto and Johto, dividing the area into the two regions we all know and love. Lately security around the area has tightened out of a desire to keep dissidents from crossing between the two regions. Some feel that Zemina wants to keep them safe, others fear it just wants them divided and conquered.

This legendary mountain seems to stand apart from the war, a shining monument to the core experience of being a trainer. While the halting of the gym challenge has removed much of the security around the mountain, its precarious peaks mean few have the guts to try and conquer it. It was once home to Red, further legitimizing it's legendary nature.
