Behind Twinleaf's nonaggression pact lies a dark secret. Lake Verity is home to secret printing presses, pirate radio, and a host of secret meetings. In their bitterness at the League not doing enough to protect the lakes, a powerful propaganda arm aligned with Bourse has formed with Lake Verity at its center. While they claim to speak nothing but the truth, their news is prone to exaggeration.

While it may not look the part, the Eterna Forest is a den of thieves just waiting to strike. Raiders sneak through the trees, carrying out regular assaults on Floaroma Town and the precious factories that it guards. Lately the town has been funnelling protection money to try and make the raids stop, but is there any honor among these thieves?

Not everyone in Eterna seeks peace, of course. A few have entrusted Zemina with the use of their underground tunnels, turning a network once reserved for stowaways and explorers into a powerful Zemina asset. Of course, the tunnels are far from fully explored: pockets of Boure resistance still persist, hidden in plain sight from the Zemina's sprawling network of secret bases.

One would think that being converted into a training base would industrialize the marsh, but if anything it's become more untamed than ever before. Mud conceals a massive array of hidden pitfalls and traps, and a thick canopy of jungle trees creates a massive web of ambush spots. Follow the increasingly rare calls of the marsh's various Pokemon, or risk stumbling to your death where they fear to tread.

At Lake Valor, the bravery and dedication of Boure's finest fighters is put on full display. The lake has been fully reconfigured into a massive boot camp, taking trainers and developing them into soldiers. With the protection of Pastoria City and a constant stream of funds from Veilstone City, it remains nearly untouchable despite its lack of obvious fortification.

The massive island and its abandoned mines are no longer used as training sites: structural instabilities from various Steelix burrows have made it far too dangerous. However, the island's distance from Sinnoh makes it a very effective outpost for keeping an eye on incoming ships. While on Zenmina's payroll, the island's border patrol sometimes "slips up" and lets a few Boure sympathizers through. By accident, of course.

Lake Acuity's isolation makes it a perfect middleman for relaying signals and information between the western and eastern halves of Sinnoh's rebellion. Communication centers struggle against storms and winds, valiantly braving any weather to try and keep the war effort fully informed. When any Zemina officials get curious, the snow-covered trees provide perfect hiding places.

Sinnoh's League building is one of its most fortified locations, mainly due to its close proximity to Pastoria's armies. Its state of the art gates and surveillance systems are kept under constant power by Sunnyshore's generators, and its Victory Road has become a maze of safes, locked doors, and dead ends. Zemina boasts that without the proper ID (or an army strong enough to brute force through), their defenses are impenetrable.

Mount Coronet pierces right through the center of Sinnoh, turning the region into what amounts to a giant ring. It's presence makes communication and trade throughout the region much harder, creating a fragmented and suffering war effort for both sides that struggles to pull itself together. The mountain itself is littered with spy bases, mines, and military outposts for both sides, each too concerned with their own success to try and hamper their enemies'.

Hoenn's Battle Frontier may be a ghost town, but Sinnoh's refused to disband so easily. This battle frontier follows the money, and the Pokemon League has way more of it than their struggling opponents. The attractions that once provided so much joy are gone, replaced with state-of-the-art training facilities designed to make Sinnoh's fighters into war machines. Of course, if Zemina can't pay the piper, who knows where the Battle Frontier might go next . . .

Not even the bravest of the Battle Frontier generally care to brave Stark Mountain, fearing its massive height and perpetual lava flow. This didn't stop Boure operatives from sneaking a base onto the volcano's rear. Already they have quite a few uses in mind for the sturdy rock and fertile soil that volcanoes are famous for.
