Rosa grew up a sheltered life. While her parents were techinically still together, her father rarely lived with her growing up. Her father's work - being a scientist - constantly kept him on the move. Her mother quit her job shortly before Rosa was born, and was sheltering and attentive, always trying to be mom and dad to her baby girl. Her father's salary was enough for her and her mother to get by rather comfortably.
Her father would come home on special occasions, Rosa or her mother's birthday, a holiday, a tragedy, or something important. Otherwise, Rosa rarely saw her father besides video calls. She grew up rather resenting the fact that all her friends had two parents to go home to, and she really only had one.
Her father was finally relocated close to Aspertia City when she was eleven, which allowed him to live with his wife and daughter. It wasn't a smooth transition, her father was used to a greater independence, and so were they. Her parents filed for divorce when she was thirteen.
Rosa started acting when she was fifteen, as a way of expressing herself. She had gotten booked on a few commercials, a few independent movies, but she felt like something was missing. Rosa had never really had a Pokemon adventure, a time to explore and find herself. At the age that most of her friends had started their adventure, her mother was far too overprotective and didn't even let her out of the house passed dark.
At seventeen, however, things were different. Rosa wanted her independence, and after speaking with her mother for two damn months, she was allowed to start her own adventure. Her mother contacted an old friend, Professor Juniper, and Rosa received her first Pokemon. She couldn't say her journey wasn't eventful, and she definitely figured out who she was. She saved people and destroyed what was left of a harmful Team Plasma. After that she challenged the pokemon league, won, and went back home. After she returned home, she went back to acting, and then the world turned to shit.
