▶ HISTORY:
For the first ten years of his life Calem grew up in the city he was born in, Santalune city, with his mother and father, Grace and Harold Duke. His mother being great Rhyhorn racer and his father taking up the life of a Pokemon Breeder. Calem grew up with Pokemon around him. His father taught him everything he knew about breeding, but it didn't stop him from dreaming about being a champion Pokemon Trainer one day. His mother even taught him some of her Rhyhorn racing moves, but he never really stayed interested for too long. He couldn't wait till he could get a pokemon of his own. But none of the pokemon his father bred were what he was looking for.
Then the accident happened. His father Harold was found on the side of the road, his car trashed, multiple of his breeding Pokemon dead or badly wounded. This was a hard time for the Duke family. But his father made it threw and ended up coming back home. However, they were forced to move out of the city and into Vaniville Town. It wasn't long after that he met Serena, Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna. It was they who he met during his meeting with Professor Sycamore. He was one of the kids chosen to take a pokemon and Pokedex to collect all Pokemon and add them to be recorded.
Choosing his first Pokemon wasn't difficult. It was the Froakie that really caught his attention, being a Ninja-like Pokemon in later forms. Just the sense of adventure caught his eye. And they haven't parted ways since. Kunai is not only his best friend, but also his greatest companion. Even his other Pokemon team could never compare to the connection that the two share between Pokemon and trainer.
Going up against team Flare and beating the champion of the Elite four was a challenge that he had set himself high for. He quickly moved through the ranks and came out on the top with having not much more to do except to search the entire world for each and every Pokemon so that he could keep a record of them. Having achieved his greatest goal Calem decided that it was time for him to finish the Pokedex. The more pokemon that were discovered, the more excited Calem became about finishing it. The longer and longer his journey would become. The more exciting it would be.
That is, until the war hit. He had begun to hear rumors of the people revolting against the Elite four and the gym leaders. He had heard of the two groups rising. Of course he jumped right into the opportunity of joining the Zemina ranks. Because of his background and his hard-work / ambition, Calem quickly rose to the rank of an Administrator. He is very active with the fighting realm, being ready at any time to learn more about his opponents and even to continue to build that Pokedex of his.
While he has never completely agreed with everything that Zemina values, Calem has joined Zemina both because it fits his zealous personality and because it is what he is used to. He is familiar with the elite four and the gym leaders. That was his life. While he completely sees the necessity of Kopec, he could not find himself working under their more peaceful means of stopping the war, as it doesn't seem to be working to him. But he also doesn't see the necessity of the Boure values being the destruction of the government. What did they plan on replacing the government with? Did they expect the government not to fight back?
