▶ HISTORY:
wallace was born in sootopolis city. growing up in a city inside a crater that was formed by a volcano was interesting, to say the least. there was little variety of activities that he could do. most of it consisted of climbing up and down the city and hoping something would come across him. he always had a longing to leave the city. luckily for him his parents were coordinators which forced him to travel with them a lot. they first took wallace along with them when he was four, to a coordinating event in lilycove. he doesn't remember much of it, but only that it was fun.
he took a liking into coordinating, a trait he suspects was passed down from his parents. he used to practice all the time with his parent's team. he would learn and then copy their routines. the pokemon already knew what they had to do so it was much easier for him to learn that way. he found it enjoyable. and so began his journey.
he first left home to go to an event at the age of sixteen. his father had lent him his team to do the routine with. in addition to that he also received his first pokemon: a feebas. he was a bit puzzled by it at the start, but he knew it would turn into something more beautiful when it evolves. long story short he came second in that event. a noble feat, but he knew he could do better. and so he trained.
when wallace first challenged the champion of hoenn he was pretty confident in his abilities. he trained with his mentor, juan, for quite some time. it was a pretty one-sided battle from the start, considering the champion at the time, steven, had pokemon on his team that were weak to water. so he won the battle and became the new champion. he and steven have become good friends since.
fast forward a few years when the war broke out. he sided with the league as he felt the need to become a protector.
