ALL WE CAN DO IS HOLD ON JUST GIVE ME A REASON TO KEEP MY HEART BEATING nanami▐453 WORDS▐N/A▐- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Wait, so.. what you saying is.." The voice in the crowd died down outside the little shop. "Broke? You mean as in, no pay?" The young man's jaw dropped, his expression reflecting his heart seemingly shattering to pieces at the same time. He hadn't realized it, but business had been slow on not just his end after all. Maybe it was the strange time, or perhaps the location was wrong for him right now, but that confirmation over the phone all but crumbled his ambition. After the few minutes the bright-eyed young man had spent staring through the glass pane separating him from his prize, he knew now that what he wanted was far further away than it appeared. Maybe the fall distance from his heart shattering to the floor finally snapped him out of his silence, he then stared at the floor in sheer disappointment. "Then.. be sure to let me know when new calls roll in. I'm in Lilycove so.." The deeper voice on the phone muttered back before he heard the call-ending click, just as Seth lowered the device and let the chorus of his inner sobbing begin. Why now of all times did work have to be so slow? Even though his uncle was his employer, there was little that could be done when it came to a sparse income like his. Looking up again to stare down the gorgeous piece of machinery sitting behind the store-front window, his heart couldn't help but ache as the hefty price tag sat there reminding him of his predicament. The chrome spokes, tires built for rough terrain, no-slip handlebars with multiple gears and shocks built-in for additional control and balance support. Best of all.. that dark red paint job was something so brilliant he just couldn't take his eyes off it. Then came the predicament, the outcry of his inner conflict as he began to argue the price against the underwhelming balance he had slapping him in the face. Food and living expenses versus the mother of all bicycles sitting right before his very eyes. It was torturing him. "Maybe I could just.. but that means sleeping outside which is alright I guess, but.. there's also food costs and.. hmm.." He muttered quietly to himself. In a ready stance as tall and firm as a statue, Seth couldn't keep his eyes off the display while he let his mind toss around all the numbers he had available for the next two weeks. With barely enough to afford the bike aside from the last pay he recieved from his uncle and no hope in sight for getting anything this week, the young man froze on the spot while the mental hurricane raged on.

nanami doesn't really have the paitience for this kind of bullshit. she's been watching this guy gawking at the display for awhile now while paying no attention to the patterns of foot traffic around him. which she was guilty of herself on occasion, but nanami's not looking to be the seraph of integrity here.
"you're in the way" she tells him bluntly with her gengar leering at him unsettlingly. "buy it or don't." it's a simple enough decision. especially when impending harm isn't even involved.
she could probably just have stepped around the guy, but nanami is the sort of girl who expects the city to move for the horse, and not for the horse to move around the city. CODED BY DUCKIE OF GS

ALL WE CAN DO IS HOLD ON JUST GIVE ME A REASON TO KEEP MY HEART BEATING nanami▐356 WORDS▐N/A▐- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Taken aback, Seth snapped out of his trance and was finally able to look away from the bike. "Wait, wha-?" He dropped back into the real world, but he heard the voice of a girl that took him awkwardly by surprise. Turning around to first lock eyes with a gengar, but the young man felt a nasty chill run up his spine when he realized the girl standing there was the one who said it. She was shorter than him, glaring up at him almost with those pretty green eyes of hers. If he hadn't realized it sooner, Seth quietly had to point out to himself that she was actually kind of.. cute. "Oh-! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. I.. uhh.. well I'm afraid I can't decide if I want to or not, that's the problem." The young man felt his face burn red as his gaze darted away frantically, then realizing he was making a scene and hadn't noticed the few people staring at him. It was his own mistake, but the guy seemed to have an affinity for having his head up in the clouds at the worst times. Seth looked back to the girl with a slight shake in his voice, unsure exactly what he could say or do next to hopefully appear as less of an idiot than he'd already set out to be in public. "I didn't mean to get in your way, sorry. It's just so nice.. man what I wouldn't give to just take it for a spin or something." He drifted off with his thought, though placing a hand on the back of his head as he casually took a step or two back from the girl to lean back against the glass so he wouldn't be such an obstacle for the strangers passing by. "I know this is really strange for me to ask," he began again, staring the girl down with a little braver of a tone to address someone who probably just wanted to get on with her day. "..but do you think I should buy it? I'm a little too indecisive today."
