Annie was on a mission, they say it's important but she didn't know why really. It was only one city, a once beautiful city that hid the war-caused ruins behind glittering lights and a still running amusement park. Amazing how a place looks so much better with a few twinkling lights, she supposed this is why the higher ups wanted that shut down, when the lights go out and the damage is exposed everyone can see this town for what it truly is or what it will be real soon, a war zone. Annie would be lying if the thought of exposing this fraud didn't get her stomach in knots, the good kind of course, she was excited and feeling the butterflies that one usually feels from seeing their crush or something, but instead she was feeling them because of the mere thought of the praise she may receive, all that recognition from a job well done! She was giddy, to be honest and had to force herself to calm down, the mission wasn't over yet, the hard part was just beginning. She had to locate the source of the power, intelligence had told her it was from a generator, she had been walking nonchalantly all around town, pausing every now and again to look in pretend awe at the lights and sounds of everything around her, in case others got suspicious but the wonderful thing about being a little girl? It was much too easy to look innocent. A generator to light up a whole city, it would need to be big, it would probably be loud, it needed to stay out of the way and not be easy to sabotage. It was probably underground. Annie poked at a manhole, it lead into the sewers, but it was too wet to be under there safely, there has to be someplace better...someplace like the subway? She looked at the large building that used to be the Battle Subway, it was as best a guess as any that she could have and so she quietly went over there, she glanced around to see if there was no one around and when the coast was clear she crept into the building. The Battle Subway has, as far as she knew, been shut down since the war took a turn for the worst, maybe to prevent people from dying if a Pokemon caused earthquake destroyed everything or to prevent the enemy from sneaking in and being able to train their Pokemon without worry, it didn't matter though it was silent here and the subway systems were empty. A perfect place to hide a generator, especially since subways had emergency exits that made it easy to get cords out to plug everything in. Annie pulled out a flashlight and walked to each opening, it would take hours to search if she couldn't hear anything, she stepped quietly and listened at each passage, she took one of the passages when she swore she heard something though wasn't too sure, it could be a complete dead end, if it turned out that was the case she would use Aria and Robin to search, they might have better, and quicker, luck. NOTES:Not really sure if the battle subway actually is closed, I just improvised ^^' TAGGED: EVENT

there were many dead ends in the battle subway, intent on leading those within in a maze around and around.

there were dead ends, true, but there were also things in the underground.

a raticate pack of five have appeared, racing out of one of the openings that annie is investigating. even if left alone, they will assume annie is an enemy and will attack, potentially causing major injury.

Annie heard noises around her, a disgusted look on her face and maybe she should have expected this sort of greeting, especially from a place like this but that didn't mean that she should be expected to deal with this. She has no time for dealing with these things and was no going to be caught dead actually doing that, she flashed her light in the direction of the noise, one of the beady little eyes of the vermin stared right back at her and it hissed, a noise that made her nearly grit her teeth. It was obvious that she was going to be surrounded quickly, if she didn't do something soon one of them would try and lung and bite at her no doubt. Unhooking a Pokeball from her belt she released Fin, her Gabite, and the Dragon type stood it's ground and let out a low, threatening growl around at them, his eyes adjusting to the darkness as quick as he could. "We can't waste too much time with them, use Flamethrower." She said as calmly as she could, in reality she was annoyed about the vermin being down here but rather excited as well, it had been a while since she battled and she could only hope her Dragon type wouldn't make too quick of work with this and if he needed help she could always send out another Pokemon. Quickly, hopefully so not to allow any of the Raticate to attack Fin opened his mouth shot a stream of fire out of it, turning his head so to try and get any that tried to flee from the attack, his claws standing at the ready and shining a dull purple in case he needed to use his Dragon Claw attack if they retaliated. Annie wondered if it was powerful enough to faint a few of them or for them to realize that this was pointless and flee, either way she was looking forward to what would happen, either they would run with their bald tails between their legs or they'd lung out and attack, she fiddled with another Pokeball, standing at the ready and flashlight moving to try and keep any of them in sight, she wasn't too worried with Fin protectively hovering around her but caution never killed anyone...usually anyway. NOTES:Annie sent out her Gabite to face the pack, Gabite used Flamethrower and stands at the ready with a prepared Dragon Claw. TAGGED: EVENT

the first heats of flame licked at several of the raticates' coats, and a rotten sort of smell tinged with something burning started filling the alcove where all of them were at. all but one managed to dodged the attack, and they circled, hard black eyes filled with blind rage and no direction.

still, they retained enough presence of mind to refrain from attacking a gabite with a dragon claw, and screeched instead.

(the ground shook, lightly, but only noticeable on the peripheral attention. it would be unlikely that annie noticed, but her pokemon were more sensitive to changes in the environment than her. it would not be enough to alarm, but be a mere note for curiosity.)

Annoying, that's what these pests were and in normal lighting they would be torn to shreds but even with Fin's heightened senses he was at a disadvantages against the vermin that lived down here for their whole lives. In her annoyance she released another Pokemon, Robin her Talonflame. "Circle around with a Flame Charge, light the room." She called out, her Gabite only momentarily distracted by the ground shaking, glancing around with narrowed eyes and a curious expression though made no move to get Annie away because as of right now it didn't seem to be an immediate danger. He focused once more on the Raticates when Annie clicked her tongue to get his attention back on the task at hand, she had been oblivious to the slight shaking, her senses not focused on anything around her but the battle going on right now. Robin flew through the air, circling in a Flame Charge, the flames licking his body lighting up the area around them enough for Fin to see and ready his claws. The sudden screech was loud and echoed, forcing Annie to cover her ears and her Pokemon flinched in the pain of the screeching but her Talonflame managed to keep up the spinning. "Use Dragon Claw!" Annie called out loudly, and the Dragon Type jumped into action, moving towards the closest one and lashing out with one claw, turning and hoping that if stunned by the attack his hard tail will knock it away, in another movement it was aiming an attack at whatever Raticate it could find. NOTES:Annie sent out her TALONFLAME to use FLAME CHARGE and light the area up more, FIN noticed the SHAKING but didn't feel worried, he used DRAGON CLAW aimed at multiple RATICATES. TAGGED: EVENT

the talonflame and its flame charge distracted the raticate enough that fin's dragon claw did damage to all but one - the biggest, and by far the nastiest. it bared its fangs at annie and her pokemon, enraged further by this insolence.

it spun itself into a flame wheel, aimed straight at annie. the other raticate slunk away to lick their wounds and watched the outcome with dark, beady eyes, greedy for any leftovers that would remain - whether that would be annie, her pokemon, or the last raticate itself.

afterwards, the ground will shake one more time this time enough to cause the pipes overhead to creak and groan, and a voice will echo down one of the passageways. "who goes there?"

Her eyes widened just a bit at the creature, it was the biggest Raticate she had ever seen! She hated these things even more now and sneered at it and perhaps in her cockiness, once she saw that Fin had done damage to many of them, she raised her head high and seemed to grin in delight at the creatures anger. What she wasn't expecting though was it to come at her flaming mad, quite literally and she nearly panicked, knowing she wasn't fast enough to avoid it, feeling fear deep in her gut and covered her face with her arms. Fin let out a roar, trying to get there in time before the Flame Wheel could do it's damage and in her panic Annie yelled out the only thing that came to mind, well the only slightly rational thought that did. "Brave bird!" She called out, the speed gained from the Flame Charge, and the Gale Wins ability kicking in caused the already devastatingly fast bird to take charge, diving down close to the ground, wings tucked in and directed right at the speeding wheel of fire, aiming to hit the Raticate at it's high speed dead on, no matter the damage it did to itself Robin was prepared to save his trainer from any kind of damage. Though despite the fast bird Annie would still suffer from some burns, on her arms and charring her clothes a bit from the close proximity of both the fire covered Raticate and her own fire type Pokemon who has embers floating off of his feathers. The place shook and this time Annie noticed, the pipes above her making noises but the thing that caused her shock was the voice she heard, causing her to jump and gaze in the direction it seemed to come from. Fin was by her side again and let out a low growl, but Annie silenced him with a shush. "Nu-uh, you first!" She called out with a glare, suspicious and hands clenching a little bit, she was not trusting of whoever was in here so no way was she going to say who she was to some random voice! Her burns hurt but she pushed the pain away for a moment, she had suffered many burns in the past, teaching Fin that strong Flamethrower as a baby Gible and raising a fire type did that to you after all. NOTES:Annie has ROBIN use the move BRAVE BIRD, ability GALE WINGS(+1 priority for flying type moves) activated, to stop the RATICATE but suffers from some minor burns. TAGGED: EVENT
