Truth be told this war ruined her. Truth be told, Anna would rather be subjected to her boss's unrelenting hands than be in this dusty, bullet-riddled, charred building. Unfortunately for her, it was a wonderful vantage point, and Anna needed all the help she could get.
Truth be fucking told, she was terrified.
Sure, a mission was a mission and she had been on plenty-- with company. With every minute the knot in her stomach ate at her, reminding her how incompetent she truly is, reminding her that she may as well join the corpses in the fire.
As if she had a choice.
Suck it up.
A deep inhale would depress her worries, for now. A clear mind was the key to a clean cut. Static rang out from the device curled in her fingers, the small radio's signal hampered in the damaged area. The only thing she could rely on now was the shadow to her right, and the red stripe around her arm.
Always have a contingency plan.
She would hardly be the same without those words bore into her head from the day she was... manufactured? Created? Crafted?
Found?
As much as she hated the idea, Anna most certainly had been lost.
Not that it mattered right now, in the heat of the moment. Her thumb presses against the transmission, a flurry of coordinates and details of her view desperately trying to reach the other line.
Nothing.
She was completely alone.

◤ | ◥ | We made a Promise | "to never get old." | Annie has found herself in the middle of a battle, citizens were screaming and everything was rather chaotic, and it was something she positively lived off of! The excitement in the air around her and she rushed along, her long time partner Fin was running beside her, growling and snarling his vicious fangs at anyone who dared even look over at them. She had been told to defend, defend the only city in Kanto who was fully Boure controlled. Annie didn't care about that so much as she loved the fact that finally something interesting was happening! She weaved around panicked citizens, occasionally pointing on in the safe direction but to be honest she couldn't care much about them, it wasn't her job to get involved in citizen affairs, she was part of the army for a reason and this was where she felt the most comfortable. Out in the open, her Pokemon by her side, and kicking major butt.
She went into a building at random, she had to force out any Zemina and contain them, so might as well start from inside buildings, there were many of her comrades outside and doing the same thing so she would have to do it this way. She walked through the torn apart building, her Gabite by her side and lifting his head into the air and taking a sniff around, scenting out anyone who would be attempting to hide themselves in this place. The roar that escaped Fin alerted Annie to someone there and he rushed ahead before they could escape, Annie close behind with a smirk on her face.
It only took a moment for them to find her, the girl who had her hand on a button connected to a little handheld machine, Annie didn't know what it was, she didn't care, she only wanted to battle right now. Her head cocked to the side and a smirk was on her face, sneering at this woman and seemed to act so much older than her fourteen year old self probably should be acting but she was much better than her age, and she would prove it right here and now!
"What better place for a rat to hide than in here."
Annie mocked, tongue sticking out a bit and Fin took his place in front of Annie, growling and letting out a roar at the woman across from them, a clear indication of a challenge and with claws shining a dull purple with an attack ready it was obvious that Annie was serious and so this woman better get her Pokemon out soon, it was for her own good after all.

Or not. An echo rings out in the empty building, but becomes drowned out through the scream of war and the raging of flames-- not before it alters their sound. Anna feels her body stiffen. How irritating. She's not completely sure who's coming, but obvious they don't understand that noise travels. Hell, Annie might have even gotten her had it not been for her glaring incompetence. That and the warning clench around her arm.
Always have a second set of eyes.
How childish.
The monkey could speak. Brown eyes roll-- what a typical sentence. She doesn't flinch. Anna is not one for talk. She hurdles the obstacles thrown at her, and Annie will be no exception. Just how papa taught her, so-to-speak. She spares no time to smile. Her pokemon know what to do. In the blink of an eye the red strip has vanished, mixing with the darkness of the room in a SHADOW SNEAK. The kecleon nearly works on its own, years of training come to fruition. For now the pokemon will lay in wait, a contingency plan.
"Hinge."
It's the only warning the young Annie will get before the Gengar makes its appearance, blasting psychic waves of HYPNOSIS at the opposing duo. The tell-tale grin never leaves the ghost pokemon. Anna does not plan to show mercy. The word left her vocabulary years ago. In the mean time Anna has bothered to turn and face Annie, sidestepping the window she had previously been peering out of. She raises the radio one more time to relay her coordinates and situation before tucking it away.

◤ | ◥ | We made a Promise | "to never get old." | Annie knew that being quiet was sometimes important but right now there was a war going on and she didn't want to half-ass thing! She wanted a fight and she would get it, she didn't want to pull cheap shots on people just so she could get things done easier, that wasn't the Annie Way! She liked making things difficult for herself what can she say and she'd never know how could she could be if she didn't try her hardest at things, she was cocky because she was good, she still had much to learn but she was good at what she did and what she did well was improvise. She's spent most of her life merely surviving, it was second nature to her by now and so she wasn't afraid, she couldn't be afraid of something like this after all it was a test for her to be able to beat someone like this. She's a child and it's hard not to be childish but don't be fooled by this young face, she's not inexperienced and she's not stupid, childish and a little foolish there is no doubt but stupid is not something that she plays well.
It's been her experience with some people that they enjoy Pokemon that can hide out in the shadows and suddenly appear when needed, a cowardly trick and one that can rarely not be picked up by her Fin's exceptional senses, as a territorial and fierce predator it has heightened senses so his eyes caught sight of something disappearing on her and he growled low in his throat, Annie knew something was up when the women didn't even speak to her and the word that did appear out of the woman's mouth, a Gengar appeared and Fin was quick to move, grabbing Annie and jumping to the side in order to avoid the Hypnosis attack. Annie blinked when she was set down before laughing, a childish and excited grin on her face as she unhooked a Pokeball from her belt.
"Good, at least you're not afraid to fight!"
She released the Pokemon held within the ball for a Metang to show up, it's eyes opening and staring at the woman and then the Gengar, this Metang was Basher and he was Annie's go to Pokemon for dealing with people that have creatures that hide away in the dark, it can see anything and lock onto anything and Basher was as efficient as a robot and sensing the hidden being in the room it used the move Miracle Eye, locking onto both the Gengar and the Kecleon, suddenly able to see it in the shadows.
"Psychic."
Annie ordered with a smirk, a strong psychic wave coming off of the Metang and right at the Gengar, the move Hypnosis would be a problem if it hit next time and Annie suspected that the Gengar has that move in order to pull off one of the most effective Ghost type moves and she was certain not to give it time and pull off that move again as she had no items to use to wake her Pokemon up at the moment she couldn't afford to let it happen.
NOTES:I'm not sure if Shadow Sneak was used as a move so I didn't write that in there, but anyway, Annie and Fin dodged the Hypnosis move and she sent out her Metang Basher who proceeded to use Miracle Eye(guaranteed hit) and Physic on Gengar. TAGGED: ANNA GULLY |

God forbid the attack actually hit. Anna feels herself scoff at the arrogance, allowing no time to pass between the release of the metang and its attack. She would not be brought to her knees by a juvenile-- and a reckless one, at that. Annie order before thinking, the only thing on her mind is offense. Anna's face reveals nothing, her posture never changes. All she can do is judge, watch for imperfections.
She would not fall.
Hinge knows better. The miracle eye may reveal it and the kecleon, but it cannot predict the future. The gengar responds to the offensive move with its own PSYCHIC attack, the waves ringing in the air. Energy flows in the building, Anna feels the tug at her own body. It doesn't matter. If it affects her it will also affect her opponent- that's all that matters. The lizard pokemon does not hesitate. It is willing to give itself to the cause. The kecleon jumps into the fray as soon as the Metang begins its assault, not only using SHADOW SNEAK to close the gap but attempt to assault the steel-type with the ghost move. It will take advantage of every opportunity the metang gives, and its focused psychic attack proves to be its first fatal mistake. The lizard jumps, its long, snake-like tail aiming to wrap around the thin part of the larger pokemon's 'arm' in an attempt to DISABLE the metang from using psychic again. It takes damage, but not enough to bring it to its knees. Anna's pokemon would not bow so easily, nor would she. It does, however COLOR CHANGE the pokemon, making the kecleon a psychic type.
If Annie thinks her opponent would let the gabite go loose she has another thing coming. The older woman will show no mercy to her servants if it means winning the battle. Anna has drawn her attention away from the metang for the time being. A pokeball drops while kecleon makes his assault, the Kangaskhan to emerge would prove to be Annie's next opponent.
Could she keep up?
On to the next one.
By no means was her battle with the metang over, but Anna would not allow the gabite to interfere a second time. The normal-type stands like a tower, its glare mercilessly watching the dragon-pokemon. It will not hesitate to make a move if Annie so dares.

◤ | ◥ | We made a Promise | "to never get old." | Basher would have looked annoyed when the Psychic was used against him as well, if it was in his personality to do so, but it was in Annie's personality and she glared coldly at the Gengar, something like that was always an annoyance to her. And though Annie was indeed a child and was full of childish...well, everything, it didn't matter, the speed of battles was something she could keep up with and some of her Pokemon, like Basher, she didn't need to direct much of the time as he could quickly counter and attack at a moments notice. Annie was quick witted though, a fast thinker and someone who could adapt in a situation in order to take on everything and survive. Surviving was her life's mission and had been what she's been doing, tossed aside since birth and given to many different people until she was sick of being treated like second rate, like a piece of trash and a toy to use and break. She was impossible to break, she could only get stronger and survive better and if she's lasted this long she could easily overtake the enemy. At least, that's how she was feeling right now, in this very moment she was feeling the strongest she's ever felt and it was a high she was not about to fall down from, not when she still had Pokemon at her disposal.
Basher watched the Kecleon, Its eyes able to see it still and flinched at the Ghost type attack, a painful thing that was for sure but nothing the bulky mass of metal wouldn't be able to withstand. Now the Disable was clearly an annoyance, with the Pokemon clinging to Its arm but his other one lifted and the arm that was being clung to was pulled closer so that Basher had the perfect position in order to slam the Kecleon with a Meteor Mash and the Metang hoped that since it was busy Disabling his move that the annoying Color Changer wouldn't be able to dodge his attack and would change into a Steel type because of the steel type attack.
With the release of her third pokemon Annie did the same, releasing one of her most powerful Pokemon on her team, and with no comparison the fastest as well. She released her Talonflame, the large bird let out a battle cry, wings spread and embers escaping from it, the form might not have seemed like the hardest of hitters but looks are definitely deceiving when it comes to this flame bird.
"Bulk up."
In an instant the bird was tensing, feathers puffing out and it's strength reached higher as well as defense as it prepared for any attack it may face. In the meantime Fin stared the Kangaskhan with fearless eyes, growling and snorting at it with claws clipping together every once and a while, prepared for anything and with claws about to glow with Dragon capabilities he was stopped by Annie's voice.
"Flamethrower on Kecleon, Flame Charge on that Kangaskhan."
She ordered, if the Kecleon was hit by the Meteor Mash and was a steel type it would be a perfect combination. Her Gabite was on the move in a flash, running towards Basher and the Kecleon and with a jump he landed on his teammates arm, the one the Kecleon had been clinging to and staring the thing right in the face before Fin's mouth opened and flames charged out of it, aiming to scorch the hopefully steel type Pokemon directly. While that was going on a charged up Robin, was flying at the Kangaskhan with amazing speed, flames covering his body as he aimed to collide into the normal type with a heavy hit, flames bursting around him.
NOTES:sorry it took me so long! My computer deleted my post yesterday -.- anyway, Basher uses Meteor Mash on Kecleon, Fin uses Flamethrower and Robin uses Bulk Up and Flame ChargeTAGGED: ANNA GULLY |

To be considered a fool in his mind would be enough to remind her why she was in this battle for the end game. Anna is at the pinnacle of her training, she climbs a mountain that Annie can only dream to find the base of. The only thing being offered here is child's play. If he was here she would have been shoved aside and this petty skirmish would have been over three minutes ago. Anna has yet to say a word to the girl, but she can't help but observe the determination.
How exciting it would be to watch those flames die out.
That is what is expected of her, and while Anna Gully may be rendered incompetent by a certain Silph, she was certainly more than proficient in her trade. Annie's pokemon possess their own motivation, but dreaming will only set them back. The metang's meteor mash would have been a significant blow, had it landed. Had the kecleon been latched on. Whether or not the attack lands is a fast decision she expects the metang will fail to think through. The only thing left of the kecleon is a beam of red light carrying the lizard's shape. Anna sets the pokeball in its rightful place.
Kecleon has left the battlefield.
Annie's frantic thinking will be the death of her-- her pokemon may act on command but she doesn't speak fast enough. There is no kecleon. Every move her pokemon decide to act on will only hurt themselves.
The room is uneasy-- used to the feeling Anna feels no discomfort. She has no cause to worry as Gengar's CONFUSE RAY permeates the air around the younger Annie. The young girl has already thrown all of her cards on the table-- her pokemon have been sent in their own directions.
The giant towering next to its master waits for nothing. The kangaskhan releases a frozen roar, the blur of the Talonflame soon to become lost to the snow. The flames make contact-- in all the wrong places. Its mouth is agape, teeth poised for the CRUNCH attack.
And for my next trick..
The BLIZZARD erupts from the Kangaskhan's jaws, left to throw the bird that may or may not have gotten caught in its grip. The snowstorm erupts through the room, threatening to destroy anything and everything in its way. Anna uses the white, pillow cover to release a second- no, third as well- trump card. Anna will fold. The screech of the bat is undeniable-- it is the only warning her young opponent will get before the BLIZZARD is amplified by a tremendous amount of force-- the noivern's HURRICANE. Anna has her KING'S SHIELD. Aegislash stands firm to protect its master from the wintry gale.
Truth be told, Anna couldn't help but feel her lips twitch into a grin.
Annie Jacobs
( kecleon recalled, confuse ray aimed at annie, kanga uses crunch and blizzard, noivern released to use hurricane, aeglislash released to serve as anna's protection ) |

◤ | ◥ | We made a Promise | "to never get old." | The moment the Kecleon was recalled any and all respect Annie may have had for this woman towards her battle style was gone, and even more so when the Gengar attacked HER. What kind of pokemon battle was this when you attack the human as well? Her Pokemon reacted violently towards this, Fin, who had already changed his target focused only on the Gengar, throwing it's Flamethrower attack in the ghost types direction, which was then manipulated by Basher's Physic attack which combined with Miracle Eye created a on target and very powerful Physic and Fire type combination aimed right at the Gengar, aiming to take it out in one terribly strong combo move in order to get back at the Gengar for attacking their trainer.
Annie was holding her head, shaking a bit and unsure of what to do, her brain was unable to think correctly and she felt her body shaking very slightly in pain, this confusion was more like the worst headache she has ever experienced in her short life and she had no clue what was going on, all she could focus on was trying to get over this confusion and pain that went through her very being, confident her Pokemon would be able to do fine without her right now, but she was furious, pissed and mad and all the other words for being incredibly upset. Why would anyone try and attack another trainer during a Pokemon battle? Though Annie herself wasn't above attacking someone the moment they pulled out Pokemon it was strictly a battle between the fighting machines and not between humans. She didn't want to think about it anymore though, there was too much pain in her head to do much thinking, she could only wish the pain away and stand there holding it, eyes closed and believing her Pokemon would protect her from any more damage.
Robin was fast, faster than this beast in front of him and managed to bet it's wings away from the others open mouth, and smirked at the feeling of Blizzard, not effected as much by it like most flying types. The Hurricane caused the winds to pick up and made the bird flinch, batting it's wings against the horrible winds and crying out, unable to do much but keep in the air. Annie flinched at the painful stinging of the cold, the building creaked and threatened to break down on all of them. Basher rushed to grab hold of Annie, heavy steel arms protecting his trainer and shooting a glare at the Noivern that was causing such a destructive and damaging attack. Fin lets out a growl, his ground typing making the flying type move not as effective, though the painful stinging of the snow made it difficult to see and move, the air was chilled and freezing, dangerous and it made the Gabite furious.
He glared over where the Noivern was and rushed the bat as quick as it could against the heavy winds and cold blizzard, claws glowing a purple color and aimed a Dragon Claw at the bat, constantly slashing in order to make it too distracted to do anything other than dodge, Robin, being free to once again Bulk Up and dive down with incredible speed, a powerful Brave Bird move being aimed right at the Kangaskhan. It's extra power from the Bulk Ups and extra speed from the Flame Charge making the hardest hitting Flying Type move become a very real and serious threat, even for something like Kangaskhan.
Annie could hear the fighting, but it was all a blur and she could barely open her eyes without getting dizzy, the feeling almost enough to make her throw up, though she held it in somehow. She'd get this woman back, she'd destroy her completely, she's never really felt this mad at someone before and now she was more determined than ever to win!
NOTES: Annie is confused! Fin and Basher use a Flamethrower and Psychic combination on Gengar, combined with Miracle Eye(guaranteed hit), Robin dodges the Crunch attack, is hit with the Blizzard and Hurricane, Fin uses Dragon Claw consistently on the Noivern to distract from Hurricane and Robin uses Bulk Up(+attack/defense) and Brave Bird on Kangaskhan. First a crack. Dust falls. Anna's eyes divert to the ceiling. Winds rise, snow blows-- the power of ice is stronger than she had originally anticipated. It starts slow, and then it's gone. The ceiling that had kept the pair hidden has been ripped away, the slab thrown as rubble. Inevitably stones fall-- not enough to interrupt, but enough for Anna to frown. The flurry and winds break out of their confinement, the blizzard raising to the sky, the hurricane increasing in force with its new found freedom.
It would be over soon.
The pair now stand on a stage, the only thing that protects them are the crumbling walls of the final floor in the decrepit building. Steel reinforcements are curved above them, the very structure peeling away with the combined movesets. Anna can't help but wonder if she's made a mistake in allowing her pawns to fight all out.
Of course not.
She never took her eyes of the bigger picture.
The girl stopped speaking-- that, or her voice was drowned in the whistle of the snowy gale. That wound not stop her pokemon. If Annie had played her cards better the older woman might have been able to respect her workers. Hinge's everlasting grin falters, the Gengar taking the flamethrower directly. It screams as it burns, but it does not fall. A fire attack will not fell the Ghost. Hinge retaliates, bitter as always, the waves of HYPNOSIS once again aimed toward Annie. In this case, metang gets in the way. It will have to do.
Anna considers her predicament. She can feel the winds press her firm against the weakening walls of the structure. A sharp whistle is all it takes to attract the Noivern. Its attack ends, the beating wings coming to a halt as it jumps for its trainer, who readily mounts the flying type. Fin makes its move, the dragon claw gouging the bat's abdomen. Noivern screeches-- the injury is infuriating, the burning through its chest will serve as fuel. The pair is lifted into the air regardless, leaving the gabite, leaving the building. Noivern has been weakened, but not felled. Anna will finish the job from the skies, hovering out of the blast zone. Noivern takes its revenge. The DRAGON PULSE sent in revenge will show no mercy to any caught in its blast zone.
Back on the ground Kangaskhan and Aegislash have been directed to fight their own battles. The behemoth normal type feels the lick of flames from a cancelled flame charge only for a moment-- the bird who has flown away is now returning. The brave bird would be a devastating attack--
which is why there must be a sacrifice.
The bird will meet flesh, but not that of the raging Kangaskhan. A SACRED SWORD stands in its way-- the shield form Aegislash proves to serve more than just its master. Despite what Annie may judge from Anna as a trainer, she must come to realize that, regardless of action, a team is a team. Motive will rule all. They all share the same goal.
With kangaskhan unharmed, the BLIZZARD continues.
The noivern's hurricane has sense died out-- only remnants of the gale winds wisp around the battlefield. For now the bat will lie in wait.
Annie Jacobs
( roof is blown away, walls crumble. gengar takes flamethrower directly, uses hypnosis toward metang/annie. anna mounts noivern and takes to the sky, but not before noivern is hit by dragon claw. noivern uses dragon pulse in fin's direction. aeglislash blocks brave bird its shield form and sacred sword (ignores stat modifiers). kangaskhan continues blizzard. )

The world stands still. All is silent. Anna's eyes scrutize anything she can see, as do the noivern's.
There is no response. Anna can only assume that the HYPNOSIS hit its mark.
Anna doesn't wait for her opponent. This is over regardless of what Annie wants. A young girl should know by this age that not everything will come free. She will not get what she wants. She will have to live with the empty pit of defeat. And, perhaps, she will learn that her pokemon will need to function on their own in the future. It's almost sentimental. Here rises Anna, the tattered young girl come to make her own mountain, only to destroy it. For now Annie will be shown mercy similar to that of the "compassion" a young Anna received all those years ago. The young girl will leave her life today.
She will not have a third chance should they encounter again.
The pokeballs are swift. The BLIZZARD comes to a halt as Kangaskhan is recalled. Gengar dissipates back into its orb, and Aegislash retires for the evening. The only beast remaining is the Noivern that will carry Anna back to HQ, where she will report her findings and relay the coordinates that did not make it through the static. Despite her calm exterior the woman is shaken, and ready to rest. Fernando would not offer such comfort immediately, but perhaps she would be spared under the premise of her survival.
Anna holds up the radio, static white noise still helplessly emitting from the device.
"Building 7, cleared."
