There was a feeling of nostalgia that passed through him. This was his first time returning home since becoming the reigning Champion of the Hoenn Region a few months prior. Something kept him away, unsure of whether or not he was ready to face the denizens of Mossdeep City. He was accustomed to being in the limelight, being the son of Mr. Stone, but this sort of admiration was different. He was quickly coming to understand that he didn't have so much of a free reign on traveling as he should. There was so much that he still needed to see in the world, and yet he was conflicted now just months after claiming a title that so many fought for and wished for. Somewhere inside he was extremely pleased with his own progression and the progression of his pokémon, but it didn't seem to reach him outwardly. All of his excitement was contained for the sake of 'what next'. As he stepped onto the paved walkways of Mossdeep, he found himself taking in the structures that surrounded him -- perhaps looking for change or things that would seem odd to him. Having been gone a rather long time, he expected at least some difference, but it would seem as if everything was in tact.. as he remebered it. His right hand lifted to rub at the back of his neck for a moment, the cold metal of his rings trailing against his neck and creating a feeling of comfort and reasurrance. As his hands dropped to his side, he found himself reaching for a pokéball, the shine of the crimson and silver reflecting under the moonlight. Tossing it high into the air, as the capsule circled throughout the air in a half revolution, the capsule opened -- exploding with silver light that slammed into the ground before him and taking on the gargantuan shape of a crimson eyed Metagross. The four-legged behemoth took a step forward towards its trainer, exuding a happiness at the realization that there was no battle to be won on this particular night. It was a genuine excitement that broke the deep thoughts that clouded his mind, reminding him that going forward he was not the only champion.. his pokémon were champions too. “Home sweet home, Jarvis. There's no battling to be done tonight..” The Metagross chimed out in happiness, and when Steven moved, so did the metallic monstrosity of a pokémon. The smell of the ocean water caught his nose just as a gentle breeze coursed throughout the beautiful city. It was every intention to return to his cottage on such a late night, but even as he passed the Mossdeep City Gym his only goal was to find the sandy shores of the city that fed into the ocean and spend time there with his pokémon. It had become something of a relaxation technique of his that allowed him and his pokémon to reflect on how far they've come over time. Ideally, there was something about Wailmer watching that was distinctively therapeutic for him.. and he was well aware that his Skarmory enjoyed swooping down on them and chasing the water ridden pokémon beneath the surface of the ocean. This was most certainly needed for him.. he was simply glad that he returned in the twilight hours when most were slumbering. ---- | -tag- tate & liza -notes- so i tried to leave this as open ended as possible. it's primarily set a few months after steven became champion the first time.. the twins are probably rather young. c: |
