▶ BASIC INFORMATION.
tl;dr: ramona is my particular take on mr. rydel's daughter from the R/S/E games. an easily overlooked npc since the playable character has no need to interact with her, i decided to run with bringing her to life here on the board. fast forwarding from her youth years ago, she's now inherited ownership of rydel's cycles after the death of her father at the hands of zemina. having sided with boure and working her way up to general, she leads a double life amongst the public serving as a jovial cycle shop owner.. and beneath the radar a hardened general for the very group that opposes all that zemina is.

bike shop owner -- rydel's cycles has come a long way since mr. rydel harbored full ownership of it so many years ago. however, when her father passed away, ramona was given ownership of the bicycle shop and since the break out of the war, has given it an entirely different appeal. the general makeup of rydel's cycles has now become not only a shop for just the acro and mach bicycle series, but a collection of higher end bikes -- up to and including various forms of motorcycles. she has since modified and remodeled the underground of the prominent cycle shop and has turned it into an underground arena for those pokémon trainers seeking to test their competitive battling edge as well, giving cyclist a place to truly come and test their prowess in a cycling arena and with their pokémon. the business is still in part sales in various bikes, but the secret behind it all is the plethora of various themed pokémon competitions in which she likes to host from time to time beneath the cycle shop.
mechanic -- tying hand in hand to her duties as a bike shop owner, one has to know how to repair what they're selling and ramona has picked up a great deal of talent from working with her father growing up. she knows the details for each and every bike she sells from the acro and mach series to the more higher end motorcycles. she's not the sort of girl who's afraid to get her hands dirty and often times finds it therapeutic to have to do some repair work on a bike. cyclist from all over generally bring their bikes to rydel's for repair work when it's needed, and it's been one way for her to get the name of her father's business out there in the midst of the war that's happening.
general -- the death of her father is what spurred her disposition to join boure. mr. rydel fell to an agent of zemina and because of this, ramona's ideals of the pokémon league were tarnished. having began as an insurgent amongst the ranks of boure, she acquired the rank of general through hardwork and disciplined spurred fourth from her journey as a pokémon trainer. having gone through the military arm of training within the ranks of boure, she gained experience as an investigator, before deciding to pursue the rank of general.. something that's still new for her, but something that she's adjusting to fairly well. she acquired the nickname little sure shot because of her battling prowess when on the field and swift and decisive aggression that her pokémon put forther into getting a job done quickly. the assets provided to her from rydel's cycles has been offered to the side of boure for the radical groups personal gain and advancement. her cycle shop is a pure reflection of her rank as general, as well as boure's supremacy within mauville city.

▶ HISTORY:
1 MOS - 5 YEARS OLD: THE BIRTH OF RYDEL
§ the only child of cycle shop owner, mr. rydel, ramona was brought into the world a motherless child.
§ though it might seem like a tragic start for a young girl without her mother, she was never without a full-time caretaker and her father allowing her to get that attention she could lack not having a mother.
§ ramona was a daddy's girl through and through. in her toddler years, she was often times attached at her fathers hip.. there to see the start of rydel's cycles in its very early stages.
§ hardly a hit in the beginning stages, the rydel family faced a harsh reality when their first series of bicycles were created. they were nearly without money for quite some time.
§ ramona was too young to truly understand her father's stress, but it would be the first time she understood true sadness.
6 YEARS OLD - 10 YEARS OLD: THE GIRL THAT ONCE WAS
§ the moment that she could form full sentences, and utilize all motor functions properly, ramona was often seen at her fathers side within their cycle shop.
§ it wasn't out of the ordinary for her to make conversation with passing trainers and denizens who came to the shop on their journeys, this allowed her to make traveling companions.
§ because of nearly all of the stories that she'd heard from passing strangers, it was ramona's general 'hearsay' that allowed mr. rydel to formulate the specifics from the acro and mach bike series.
§ at the ripe age of ten, mr. rydel released the acro and mach bikes upon hoenn which gained rydel's cycles popularity amongst the mainland regions of the world. trainers came from all over to acquire one.
§ this increased ramona's interest in pokémon training, and after a year of the shop being re-established, the young girl voiced her desire to go on a pokémon journey.
11 YEARS OLD - 14 YEARS OLD: THE UNTOLD ADVENTURE
§ ramona began her adventure shortly after the team magma and team aqua events came to an end, retrieving her first starter from her father as a gift -- a young riolu.. the perfect guardian mr. rydel felt.
§ growing as a new pokémon trainer was something ramona had a great deal of trouble with. she was often seen as meek starting out, and it was her pokémon that commanded her.. not vice versa.
§ this made her first four gym challenges exceedingly difficult in the hoenn region. the grasp she had to gain on pokémon training was acquired through trials and tribulations.
§ it wasn't until a troubling incident training in meteor falls, that she established the rapport that she needed to have with her team. the rugged terrain toughened her mentally and physically furthermore allowing her to enforce a strict discipline amongst her team that took her far in her journey going forward.
§ by the time that she fourteen years of age, she'd acquired all eight of not only hoenn's gym badges -- but the neighboring region of sinnoh as well. it wasn't until she acquired sixteen badges that she decided to return to hoenn to challenge the pokémon league of her home region.
15 YEARS OLD - 21 YEARS OLD: DEATH OF A LOVED ONE
§ when she returned to hoenn, she immediately made a treck for home with the intention of showing her father how far she'd come on her journey.. only to learn that her father had gotten involved in a conflict with a pokémon league that had grown tyrannical.
§ deciding to take a bicycle to search for him based off of the information she received, she traveled the routes of hoenn until she came upon a deal in progress between two radical groups.. her father in the midst of such a deal. however, when a fight broke out between both groups, she found herself trying to mediate it if only to protect her father.
§ by the end of the conflict, wounds were gained, but the mental wounds she sustained when her father was killed in the midst of the conflict scarred her most.
§ bitterness settled within her heart. she learned afterwards of zemina, boure, and kopec.. and the spreading of war that began in the kalos region. like a plague, it had reached hoenn as well.
§ after her father passed, ramona closed down rydel's cycles and began to remodel it to accomodate various other types of cycles of various degrees, and to accomodate her stance in the war that has developed.
§ in the midst of her remodeling, she joined the side of boure's ranks as an insurgent to gain formal training and to assist in their cause.
21 YEARS OLD -: THE CHRONICLES OF RAMONA
§ after several years of being closed, ramona reopens rydel's cycles with its face lift, having used the assets that were left to her by her father's earnings.
§ while the business is slow coming taking off, she has began to advertise beneath the radar for cycling competitions of varying levels that double as competitive battling competitions underground.
§ taking advantage of her growing stance amongst boure, she finally acquires the rank of general, and has began to utilize the underground beneath rydel's cycles as 'mock' training ground for insurgents and those with allegiances to boure.
§ despite years having passed since the death of her father, she has become a little more rebellious than not against zemina. her training regimen for insurgents generally yields results because of her desire to see zemina fall.
