A modern day Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the only people Curtis can call "friends" are by way of his stage persona: Christoph. Furthermore, his broad network only comes to life when he dons the idol identity. Life for "Christoph" is seemingly good, but life for "Curtis" is a different story.

Being "Christoph" the idol for the majority of his career has left him wondering if his off-stage presence is something unneeded, something unwanted. Everyone seems to like his flashy, dynamic self, but would they like his more homely self? That being said, he will only consider you a true friend if he's comfortable being himself around you.

Being a well-known face for Boure, he is sure to have some enemies whether he likes it or not. Though most of the time, Curtis doesn't know the faces of his predators. After all, taking down a public figure is easier done in the shadows around the spotlight.

Though enemies don't need to be only political anyway. He's naive, oblivious and fairly gullible. People can stomp on him to get to where they need to go, where they need to be—much like how his company is doing to him.

The record label forbids him to date: his bachelordom is an important point of his popularity among his fans and although Curtis wouldn't mind the idea of dating, of finding mutual affection, he has to deal with flipping his identity inside out. He's still young and although the throngs of romance are calling him, the butterflies within his stomach are multiplying. Not that it mattered. He wasn't allowed to date, anyway.

curtis fox hey there! so, uh. tate and/or liza might be fans of christoph? they're zemina, yeah, but technically mossdeep is neutral in the war so far -- and, for now, they'd like very much to keep it that way. and since they haven't really left mossdeep/hoenn like ... ever, christoph would not only be representative of boure but also of unova and pretty much a lifestyle that's completely foreign to them?

i could see him getting along fairly well with tate, actually! he's spunky and a little too courageous for his own good, and curtis' more down-to-earth personality would do well in grounding him.

tate & liza — YOOO, I LOVE THAT YOU PICKED TATE AND LIZA UP. They can for sure still meet up and be potential friends and all that. Although, aside from their initial meetings, eventually it might have to become a little more on the down-low as soon as the tensions start rising between all the factions.

Despite Mossdeep being far from Unova, Christoph would have a reason to go there. After all, even though he is a Boure propagandist, he does have normal concerts and like they say, any publicity (for Boure) is good publicity. And if he does hold an event there, meeting with the local gym leaders is not too farfetch'd even if they are from different sides. MAYBE THEY COULD MEET AS VIP MEMBERS BACKSTAGE OR STH YOOOO

Although Liza, the more intellectual or contemplative of the two might realize they have to exercise caution as their relationship grows. There's no escape from the effects of this political hotpot anyway. Christoph or Curtis, yea, he'll definitely be able to ground him (OR WE'LL SEE) once he gets comfortable with his off-stage skin.

I can see some tragic, or heart-wrenching or just something PAINFUL in their futures if they become better and better friends. Christoph has no control over what Boure or his entertainment company does to him-- there could be a chance for their relationship being taken advantage and twisted for a political edge, whatever it may be.

Christoph is that flashy representation of Unova, for sure. What he could bring to these twins can be interesting! Whatever it may be. I'm excited. But first of all, he'll sign posters and CDs for them ok.

curtis fox sorry i couldn't respond until now, but YEEEEES. liza would probably be the one to kind of hold tate back, i agree? but i think if curtis ever had any concerns she'd also be the one who he could maybe talk to about it tbh.

and ugh honestly i'm not sure what would happen if they tried to use him against them?? because it's not like either of them have too many friends anyway askfjhsdf

DUDE curtis and 'frostbite' are probably acquainted at both professional levels since she's the current queen of pokemon contests (although fatima fans still dispute that unofficial title)

i mean at least they've probably met at some kind of black tie event. maybe at an awards ceremony for entertainers or something

frostbite is pretty cutthroat and she's lived her career by scraping to the top and obliterating anyone who got in her way, really. nothing underhanded, but that doesn't stop the rumors.

i just think it's really interesting how one took the propagandist track and the other took the spy track. i think it's worth exploring.

tate & liza — Sorry that I couldn't respond until now! Omfg yea, I'm actually so on board with Curtis becoming super good friends with them. The fact that they don't have a lot of friends... hurts me, yo. I don't think I can recover from this aching sympathy.

Though something's going to happen in Curtis' near future that might change things up! You will see!

Do you want them to meet up backstage in Curtis' dressing room or something!? Like, I can imagine Tate being like YISSSSSSS and entering (whether they have permission or not--they could either have had passes or sth/allowed normally cuz they be gym leaders/or tate just goes for it mad dash) and Liza—who might be a fan of Christoph—who is like "nonoNONONO."

If that's the case I can make a thread or you can whatevererer or we can have them meet some other way or orrkrok k f

Curtis would definitely be nervous at first, I think. Her reputation as the "frost bitch" would intimidate him somewhat, but maybe also the fact that she's wow so pretty sakjfksar. 

But, his facade as the confident Christoph would help him break that initial awkwardness--and they have a lot things in common, I think. The stresses of the spotlight, what their names mean to them... etc.

BUT YES. That contrast is super cool. I mean, I can see it being reflected in their personas, their personalities. Her role as a spy is going to affect their relationship in the future, I think. Something's going to happen to Curtis that'll shake his role up and I'll let you know as it happens!

ALSO, little question. Curtis is doing a mission in Pewter City which had prior preparation of radio show equipment being delivered to a house there. Maybe Sophia had a helping hand there—maybe even left a note in there too, etc. If she did, it'd be a little nice connection, reference, etc!

But yea! I'll also see what I can think of for Nanami but I'll post in your plotter instead for that if you'd like!

curtis fox Oh man, I'd love to throw Lyra at him. Wish I had a better reason than 'because Lyra,' but imagine the possibilities. Lyra's a go getter, a little ball of energy with more on her plate than she'd ever let on and a need to help just about everyone. And, of course, thanks to Gold, she's settled firmly in camp Boure (even if she can't do much regarding the war effort right now), so there's that as well. Thoughts?

Maybe Curtis would meet her at her daycare? Whether it be for publicity reasons or whether it be for a normal visit to drop off one of his Pokes under the 'guise of his usual self, whichever it is, that's one avenue of introduction!

sophia is a secret elitist who judges everyone to some extent, particularly those who work in her fields. at the same time i think she'd be intrigued by curtis? like she never got the 'extroverted' part of the idol persona down and she's just milked the ice queen thing foro all it was worth

and yes that does sound like something that she would do. she does none of the publicity stuff so i imagine that she makes up for it by being uber discreet ab pulling her connections. i don't think she would be v open ab helping tho so maybe he recognizes her handwriting on her autograph as being the same one on the note
