Goldenrod was never his favorite city. Even now, with the war so imminent and most other cities were slowly sinking into a pit of destruction, Goldenrod has magnificently ignored the world, keeping it's consumers politely ignorant. Red sees friends, couples, families lovers, and a whole bunch of other characters rushing through the streets, content to chasing sale after sale in whatever pursuit of fulfilment they see fit. There might have been a few calls to his name, but Red does his best to ignore them and quickly finds his way out of the city.
He lets loose a breath he didn't know he was holding once he sees the familiar plain of greenery that makes up the route. Any other time, he would have bypassed the city, or else not have gone in at all. But he needed to be as close to Goldenrod as possible, and Charizard had been adamant on making a proper landing, so sacrifices had to be made. The last time they had tried to make an impromptu landing on a route, they somehow managed to get into trouble with a bunch of Pidgeot who weren't very happy with their nests being ruined, and it took a long three hours until they managed to make some new nests before the Pidgeot would forgive them. Both Red and Charizard had been ashamed.
Red quickly spots the lodge-like house that stands out from the rest of the route, the place too homey to belong to anything that Goldenrod has to offer. He doesn't see the usual old man who's keeping guard outside, but Red isn't deterred by that. She said she'd be here when she left, and that was enough for him.
He pushes through the door, letting himself in.
Because hey, when has Red ever knocked?
