Born to a rather wealthy family, he's had it quite easy for most part. Sure, whatever he wanted, it was given, provided that he was a good little boy and stayed still whenever he was told to. Of course, his mother and father were quite too busy working to really take care of the boy, letting the maids do that job instead. But that suited Elijah fine or so he would tell himself, figuring out early on that even if he did try and look for some attention he wouldn't get much, other than a scolding that is. His family owned the telecommunications company of Johto, spear heading and providing service for the pokenav, which pretty much turned into a monopoly as soon as things kicked off. He was their only child, much was expected of him, someday he would continue on the legacy. That thought bore itself into his head, and he hated that it could dictate his life just like that.
Perhaps it was why he was so adamant to becoming a pokemon trainer in the first place, the lush and glamorous life of the wealthy had him thirsting for more than a safe lifestyle. It wasn't difficult to leave without telling anybody, gathering up a few essentials and money before making it out in the world. He was sixteen at the time, a late start compared to most, but he made up for it with curiosity and drive.
He returned to Johto due to circumstance, a surprise call from his mother about his father's passing. The war had bled throughout the world by now, Elijah had watched passively for while as everything built up to the point, where no amount of compromise could fix it anymore. It was becoming more and more common to see people arguing, and even more quickly did it turn into fighting. On the brink, over the edge, the people rebelled. Even Elijah couldn't standby any longer, promptly joined along Boure and against the League. Only time would tell if he made the right choice, but for now, he still had his family to protect and a company to co-run. Course, their company had grown in his leave, with the C-gears release and popularity, their company has had to keep up with the demand in service, extending their range and reliability.
